The plan took shape in 2019: organise golf trips that I join myself, play a round together and show people how beautiful Western Canada is along the way. A fine idea, I thought. Except I had not allowed for a global pandemic when making my plans. COVID brought everything to a halt, and the postponement almost became a cancellation. After that, other work and travel pushed the plan back year after year.
But some ideas keep coming back. This one kept calling me: playing golf together and taking people through this beautiful part of Canada. So I’m dusting off the plan. I see the next ten years as the final ten years of my “career” — a grand word, but there we are. I want to spend those years actively too, alongside my online work.
And I love showing people Western Canada. The mountains, the open spaces and the golf courses make this a wonderful place to travel. For anyone who loves the game, playing golf in this part of the world is a must, I’d say. Though sometimes you do have to remember that you came for a round of golf, rather than just the view. Playing together is the foundation, whether you travel independently or join the guided group trip.
